After spending some delightful time in Canggu (Bali), co-working, meeting inspiring people, and hopping from one trendy restaurant to another (check my Canggu guide here), I decided to move on to neighbor country Lombok for a little change of scenery.

Lombok is, from my point of view, beyond pure and authentic than Bali. Everything is a bit rougher here, nature is diverse, and it is not yet chockfull of hip bars and restaurants. I spent a few nights in Kuta, and I felt a tremendous communitive vibe here. Both the locals and the tourists seemed to know each other, and it instantly felt enjoyable and conversant.

Favorite hotspots in Kuta

Milk Espresso

During the day: coffee and brunch spot, during evenings: rooftop hangout for cocktails and beers.

Bamba

The best Asian street food in the main street of Kuta, also a hostel and a great place to relax in the pool.

Lombok Surf

Boutique surf camp in the heart of Kuta.

Mana Yoga & Retreat

Sustainable hotel with veggie & vegan restaurant, two pools, a spa, and lovely bungalows.

Kenza

Healthy food and beachy vibes. A cute shack looking place with great salads and bowls. Based in Kuta and Gili Air.
